About
I'm Rhonda Brimmer Austin, an Educational Diagnostician and the founder of Mind Measures AI. I have had many roles in education: general education teacher, special education teacher, Educational Diagnostician and assistant principal. I came back to diagnostics because it is where I make the biggest difference: sitting with parents and a student and explaining how that student's brain thinks, how it learns, and where the struggles come from.
I also created Buckets & Barrels, a free education site for families at brainbarrels.com. It turns the thinking abilities measured in a cognitive evaluation into characters a child can picture: buckets and barrels who live together in Bucket Hollow Village. Each one has a name, a job and a catchphrase, so families have an easy way to talk about how a child's brain works. You'll meet some of them in my portfolio.
My whole career has been taking complicated information and making it make sense to the person in front of me. AI turns out to be very good at that job when someone who knows the field is steering it. I build those tools, and I teach people to use AI without handing over their judgment.
